Carole and Al: Changing of the Guard

Approximately 60 folks gathered at the Barns at Rose Hill in Berryville, VA, for our Annual Meeting, November 17th, 2013.

The evening opened with a visit to the Clarke County History Museum where members enjoyed a brief presentation on the history of the County.  Following the visit to the Museum, members were treated to a wine reception and chili dinner provided by the Board of Directors with background music by the Short Hill Mountain Boys.

As is the custom at the annual meeting, a short business meeting was conducted during which new officers of Friends of the Blue Ridge Mountains were elected by acclamation including Carole Napolitano, President; Marie Uehling, Vice President; Debbie Snyder, Secretary; and Katie Conaway, re-elected as Treasurer.

Carole thanked the outgoing officers for their service and presented them with gift books featuring the Blue Ridge Mountains.

The Annual Friend of the Mountain Award was presented posthumously to Jane Pratt, a founding member of Friends, an expert on mountain issues, and the visionary whose Conservation Corridor concept has served as a guiding direction for the work of Friends over the last several years..
