Update to Sleeter Lake Park Project

Sep 26, 2019 | Happenings Around the Blue Ridge |

Supervisor Tony Buffington recently posted the following update:

“Many thanks to my colleagues for supporting my motion to purchase a new 106 acre parcel connecting Franklin Park to Sleeter Lake Park!

In addition to the possibility of active recreational opportunities, the park may also serve in a more passive manner such as trails (hiking, mountain biking, equestrian), equestrian facilities (rings), bike parks, ropes courses, or picnic pavilions to name just a few of the possibilities.”

The purchase of this new parcel is a wonderful addition to green space in western Loudoun County. It complements the stewardship initiative already started at Sleeter Lake by Friends of the Blue Ridge Mountains by expanding recreation opportunities, open space, and the Emerald Ribbon trail system. Thank you Tony!
