Night Owls and Early Birds Support Friends of the Blue Ridge Mountains

Mar 28, 2022 | Uncategorized |

The Give Choose 24-hour virtual marathon is tomorrow – March 29th. Friends of the Blue Ridge Mountains depends upon your financial support.

For those of you who may be night owls or early birds the Give Choosecampaign has a particular incentive. The organization that receives the most donations between midnight and 8:00 AM Tuesday March 29th will receive a bonus of $500 from the Give Choose campaign. Will you be awake at midnight tonight or before 8:00 AM tomorrow morning?  If so, if you choose to donate to Friends during that 8-hour period you can help us win an extra $500.

The threats to our beloved Blue Ridge mountains range from climate change to increased development pressures. Over the next 12 to 18 months many public policy decisions are going to be made that will shape the course of development in the Mountains for decades. For example, Loudoun County will be adopting a new zoning ordinance which will determine such basic questions can we keep cell towers off the Mountain ridge; how do we protect the streams and water ways; how can we promote the use of conservation easements to shelter land from development in perpetuity?

Friends is your voice to make sure that the impact on the Blue Ridge is considered as governments make these and countless other decisions about future development.

Please go to www.givechoose.org/fbrm and invest in helping us to continue to be your voice to preserve, enhance and celebrate the Blue Ridge Mountains.
