Volunteer Day and Earth Day Success!
In April Friends made our second appearance at EarthDay@Loudoun where we had the opportunity to speak with hundreds of people and network with other conservation organizations. In May we hosted our biggest Stewardship Volunteer Day yet! On May 1st, 2015 we partnered again with the Virginia Native Plant Society to learn about, and continue clearing invasive plant species from Blue Ridge Regional Park. With the help of volunteers we were able to make good progress against species like bamboo, wineberry vine, and barberry shrubs. Plans are in the works for our future Stewardship Volunteer Days – keep an eye out for your invitation! Thanks to everyone who was able to come out for these events, and to all of you for your ongoing support.
